Platform games have a long and extensive history, including some of the best video games of any kind.

When the genre first came across the modern smartphone format, it stumbled a bit. Initial attempts to try a resolution-based option, such as a laser, did not work well with touch screen devices.

Nowadays, things are different, and every year many great platforms are launched on Android. Here we discuss the top ten.

Usually we do not include infinite competitors. They are very own now. Also, if the game worked and jumped between platforms as the primary mechanic, it would be outrage.

Thomas Vaz One is another single classic that made the smartphone largely unheard of. Its levels are concise, skillful and puzzle-like, and the story is very focused with an admirable (and humorous) narrative approach.

However, all of these traps support powerful stage mechanics, as they guide our one-figure heroes in every simple stage with effective virtual control.

Traps n 'Gemstone is a 2D platform game, but it belongs to the school of Metroid and Castlevania rather than Mario and Sonic.

You can choose your way through the game's giant pyramids, which have several interconnected rooms, and in each of them you have to find a strange spatial puzzle.

Among them are many difficult villains who can win, rush to collect and cool stage acrobats who perform.

Waking Mars is another very unusual stage Boy's adventure-2d game platformer. Never jump through a playful Mars cave system, such as a flight, taking care of a vertical passage with a beautiful jet block.

But it is the foreign world and your actions that really highlight the game. Instead of bouncing his head or otherwise killing the bad guys, the awakening Mark makes him sow the seeds all his life.

Terrifying, full of atmosphere and completely absorbing, Waking Mars takes the platformer genre in an interesting new direction.

Just the opposite, for example, Head Blade, Waking Mars or Traps n 'Gemstones. It is packed with an extremely fast and action-packed platform.

You play as a smart ninja, and the game control system with swipe-scrolling makes you stick to walls, crawl around the enemy's back and apply a deadly ending.

All this is played on cool, creative, yet compliant levels.

The original Illusion Castle was something of a classic platformer in the 16-bit golden age of the genre. Surprisingly, this recent version managed to replicate its appeal.

Based on the original ideas of the original levels, the game is developed with a rich 2.5D engine. It's "inspired", then "new look", and it's better for him.

Despite the theme of Mickey Mouse, the castle of Illusion is still a difficult challenge. Fortunately, virtual controls last up to the mission so you can see through them - of course, if you have old skills.

Random Heroes 2 is as much a shooting game as a 2d adventure game, but it jumps so high that we're happy to add it to this list.

Choose your hero, choose a weapon from OTT's growing arsenal of weapons and jump through a series of challenging 2D platform levels.

The stage is as narrow as many authentic strips. The only difference here is that instead of jumping with your head, you fill them with bullets.
