Telecom Malaysia provides a triple service known as Unify. The term Unifi comes from a combination of two words: "Uni", which means teamwork and friendship, and "Fi", which means optical fiber.

With this service, people can access high speed internet, get good phone connections and also access IPTV in their homes. The service benefits individual and corporate consumers in Malaysia, and the technology used to provide the service depends on the workplace in customers' residential areas. For example, if the customer lives in a sold property, Fiber to the Home or FTTH technology, such as a high-speed digital subscriber line, will be used to provide services if the customer lives in a high-rise building. 2 or VDS 2 technology is used.

Understanding Unity

Telecom Malaysia launched Unifi on March 24, 2010. It was created to strengthen and intensify competition in the broadband market. Telecom Malaysia provides Unify services to approximately 48 regions of the country. The price of the offered services also depends on the use of the customers and the download and upload speed.

Housing package called VIP

The residential package offered by the unifi register Triple Play Service is called VIP because it provides three types of services. In this service, V stands for video or Internet Protocol television, I stands for high-speed Internet access, and P stands for telephone.

What are the benefits of VIP?

VIP services have many advantages. Some of them are:

HD movies and videos can be downloaded in a short period of time.

With Internet Protocol Television, people can access many TV channels. The picture quality of the TV also increases and stabilizes.

People can do their work from home because of the high internet speed and they can stay in touch with their offices and customers around the world through video and audio calls.

This made shopping easier because people can shop through the convenience of their own homes through online shopping sites; The drive system is also safe.

People can connect with other people around the world and play HD online games.

Due to the high download speed, people can download fast books, magazines and journals. They can also study online and get effective research and studies.

According to Opcom, the agreement is an ancillary agreement entered into by its subsidiary Opcom Cables Sdn Bhd. It will run from 1 August 2020 to 20 May 2022.

Needless to say, the transaction generated commercial interest in Opcom Holdings. According to The Edge Markets, stock prices rose 48.05% to 57 years after receiving a contract from TM.

What can this mean for Malaysia? Well, there are many options, especially in a transaction that involves a large amount of money. While TM had no comment on it itself, it could be used to promote their Unity, making it available in multiple places, or perhaps both at the same time.

As we now know, there are still a large number of areas that have not yet upgraded to UnifTM and are stuck in StreamX, if they are paid almost as much for much slower speeds. . TM has been working on solutions such as RM79 per month for Unifi Air to improve connectivity in rural areas, but there are some limitations, such as the speed at which download and upload operations take place from 1 Mbps to 20 Mbps.

For now, we'll just have to wait and see what TM is available to us in Malaysian. We'll report more as soon as the information is available, so stay tuned.
